Pokémon GO updates its temporary bonuses

Niantic has extended some of the special bonuses for all trainers until June 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. This year 2020 Pokémon Go has had to take special measures and adapt to the coronavirus pandemic that is taking place around the world.

For months now, the game has received temporary bonuses that allow it to play more comfortably, either by eliminating requirements to walk certain kilometers, being able to hatch eggs with less distance or receiving more gifts from our friends, to mention just a few. Now Niantic has confirmed that some of these bonuses will be maintained for more months.

Update of the temporary bonuses for coronavirus

Since this past November 19th, 2020, there are several bonuses that have returned to Pokémon Go and will continue until at least mid 2021, which is sure to be great news for many players. The bonuses are as follows:

  • There is no walking requirement for the GO Fighting League.
  • Damage increased for Trainers in ranged raids.
  • Open 1.5 times more gifts.

Again, these bonuses are temporary. Niantic has added that they’ll give at least a month’s notice when changes are made to them. The game must continue to adapt to the global environment and this is one of the answers to the complicated situation we are going through.

More temporary active bonuses

It is worth mentioning that, in addition to the two bonuses mentioned above, the game has had other bonuses for months that are still present. These are:

  • There is no walking requirement for the GO Fighting League.
  • Damage increased for Trainers in ranged raids.
  • Open 1.5 times more gifts.

On the other hand, Niantic reminds us that there are other bonuses that will be present often through the temporary events of the game. These can be distance reduction from egg incubators, free Item packs and much more. The game will receive in a few days its biggest update to date entitled GO Beyond, with the inclusion of Generation 6 Pokémon, among many other things.
